Abstract :
Today's computers must be isolated from line disturbances. The customer insists on the highest availability possible. Most
often this requirement can only be met with a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). The author describes the design of computer
power systems including the hardware between the power entry and the computer, i.e. distribution wires, protection techniques
and UPS.
