Call For Seminar Proposals

The APEC program rests upon three main legs:

  • The paper presentation sessions,
  • The Exhibits and
  • The Professional Education Seminars

The Professional Education Seminars are wonderful opportunities for APEC attendees to gain new knowledge or brush up on lessons already learned. Seminars may provide an in-depth look at a topic or be a more general survey. Seminars may be intended for people with any range of experience in power electronics from new graduate to experienced veteran.

APEC 2005 invites the submission of proposals to present a Professional Education Seminar at APEC 2005. Seminars can be in any of the areas of interested listed at the bottom of this page.

Members of the APEC Conference and Program Committees review seminar proposals. Seminars are selected based on quality and an effort to provide a balanced seminar program consistent with the overall APEC charter. This often means some quality seminar proposals are declined.

Compensation for seminar speakers includes a modest honorarium and a complimentary seminar and conference registration. In the case of multiple speakers for one seminar, the honorarium and complimentary registrations must be shared among the speakers. Seminar speakers are responsible for their own expenses of preparing and presenting the seminar, including all travel, lodging and meals.

Unlike the papers presented in the Technical Sessions, seminar speakers retain the copyright to the seminar materials.

Seminars include three hours of presentation and a thirty minute break. Seminars at APEC 2005 will be presented in three sessions:

  • Session I: Sunday, March 6, 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Session II: Sunday, March 6, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM

  • Session III: Monday, March 7, 8:30 AM - 12:00 Noon

In each session, several Seminars will be presented in parallel.

An accepted seminar may be assigned to any one of those three time slots in order to present the best overall Seminar program.

Submit seminar proposals and requests for further information to the APEC 2005 Offices.
