The IUMRS General Assembly held 1998 in Cheju/Korea decided to hold it in the year 2000 in Europe, i.e. STRASBOURG.

The International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) was established as an international body, consisting of MRS societies from all over the world. Their common interest is to promote international cooperation in the field of Advanced Materials Research and Development.Through their biannual intemational conference on Advanced and Electronic Materials (ICAM & ICEM), held by rotation in Asia, Europe and America, IUMRS follows as main goal to promote fast information and communication on the newest achievements in RDT results in Materials Science and Technology.

* The 6th IMF WORKSHOP, Initiative for Inert Matrix Fuel

E-MRS will host these symposia together with the Spring Meeting from

MAY 30 - JUNE 2, 2000

The conference Programme includes 18 symposia, with 4 symposia on Optoelectronics, symposia on Nanoscale Materials and Processing, Characteri-zation and Technologies of Semiconductor Materials etc..., will cover a broad range of cross-disciplinary advanced topics on materials, technologies and devices, mainly for the Information technology.It ranges from fundamental to medium term RDT with application perspectives.

The organization committee extends a cordial invitation to all Advanced Materials scientists, researchers and engineers worldwide to contribute and attend this unique conference in Strasbourg (France).
