Instructions For Preparing Manuscripts For The Proceedings

Manuscript Format

APEC requires all manuscripts to comply with the standard IEEE style and format. The sample manuscript document has a representation of the layout you are to use when preparing your paper.

Submitting Your Manuscript

APEC accepts manuscripts only in the approved PDF format. The manuscript upload page at Webstracts.com provides three options for easily creating an IEEE-compliant PDF.

Once converted to PDF, go to the APEC Manuscript Submission Web site, hosted by Webstracts, to upload your manuscript. This site contains a self-explanatory process for uploading your manuscript and other pertinent author data. You will use the same login information as you did for digest submission. A reminder email was be sent to your email of record on October 10, 2005. If you did not receive this reminder, contact the APEC offices without delay.

IEEE Copyright Form

Webstracts will handle the IEEE copyright transfer electronically this year. Webstracts.com will provide you with directions during the final manuscript upload procedure.

If your contribution is not 100% releasable, do not send it in. If you not able to submit your manuscript, notify the APEC offices as soon as possible.

For your reference only, the IEEE Copyright Transfer form is available in Adobe Acrobat format but this form will not be used by APEC 2006.

Page Limit and Page Charges

Your complete paper must occupy no more than 7 pages. Papers that exceed this length will be charged US$100.00 per page for each page over 7 pages. If page charges are due, send a check or money order, payable in US dollars and drawn on a US bank, along with the author's name, paper number and paper title to:

  APEC 2006
  c/o Courtesy Associates
  2025 M Street, NW, Suite 800
  Washington, DC 20036

Manuscripts received without the required page charges may not be included in the Proceedings. Papers that do not appear in the Proceedings will not be presented at the conference. In addition, digests submitted to any future APEC by authors with delinquent page charges will not be considered for review until all such charges are paid in full.

Paper Submission Checklist

You must complete all of the following for your paper to be accepted for publication:

  • Paid conference registration by one or more authors of an accepted paper

  • Electronic manuscript uploaded to the Webstracts.com Web site, PDF file approved, and IEEE copyright transfer complete

  • Page charges, if any, received at the APEC offices

Writing Guide

For your reference and convenience, a Technical Writing Guide, based primarily on the work of Chuck Mullett can be a great assistance when preparing your manuscript and presentation.

Submitting Your Paper for IEEE Transactions Review

You are invited to submit your paper as a candidate for publication in either the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics or the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications. The IEEE Industry Applications Society requires that all papers printed in their Transactions must first be presented in an IAS-sponsored conference, and presentation of your paper at APEC meets this requirement.

Please be sure to check the latest requirements for prospective authors of transactions papers at the IEEE Industry Applications Society or Power Electronics Society Web sites.

Addresses for the Transactions paper review editors are:
